Germany: Saurierpark Kleinwelka Starts Construction of New Entrance Building

On May 6, the start of construction of a new entrance building at Saurierpark Kleinwelka (near Bautzen) was heralded by a symbolic ground-breaking ceremony. As of 2016, visitors will enter the dinosaur park via the “MITOSEUM”, which is the name of the new entrance building. Inspired by the process of mitosis, the architectural design of the building (provided by rimpf.ARCHITEKTUR) orients itself on the six phases of mitosis. After completion one of the “cells” will already be visible from a distance as elliptical volume. The translucent outer skin of the cells will be made of ETFE foil. Life-size prehistoric creatures will be shown in MITOSEUM. (eap)
