Germany: Western Town at Hansa-Park Becomes ”New Lübeck” & Gets Christmas Shop

From the coming 2022 season, the “Western Town” at Germany’s Hansa-Park will become more thematically integrated into the Hanseatic concept of the destination and will receive the name of “New Lübeck”. The new name of this park area is to pay tribute to all those people who were once so brave and emigrated from Europe to America to discover new horizons.

In addition to the name change, Hansa-Park announced another change for Western Town: “It is with a heavy heart that we unfortunately have to part with the Antique Studio after many years. The lasting changes brought about by Covid have led to this rational decision [...]. After two years of involuntary closure and with extremely unfavorable future prospects for this body-related service, which is also associated with slipping into costumes that cannot be washed or disinfected after each day, we have therefore decided that we need to look for an alternative for the antique studio [...],” it says on the part of the park. As a novelty, instead of the antique studio, where visitors could have nostalgic photographs taken, there will be the “New Lübeck Christmas Shop”, modeled after the “all year-round Christmas stores” in the USA. The conversion work will still begin this year.

Likewise, in 2022, when Hansa-Park celebrates its 45th anniversary, the first section of the new “Peterhof von Novgorod” theme world designed for children is to be implemented with two rides (see EAP News of 9 Sept 2021). (eap)
