Germany/USA: Successful Float out of the “Odyssey of the Seas” Cruise Ship in Papenburg
Construction of the new “Odyssey of the Seas” cruise ship, which will be operated under the flag of the Miami/Florida-based Royal Caribbean International line, is underway: The 347.1-meter-long “ocean giant” recently left the covered building dock of Germany’s MEYER WERFT in Papenburg and now moors at the outfitting pier in the shipyard harbor. In the coming months, the interior work on the Odyssey of the Seas will be completed; the over 5,000 passenger ship will then be conveyed down the river Ems to complete the technical and nautical sea trials. Future guests on the Odyssey can look forward to a versatile leisure and entertainment offering the ship will feature, including a large number of water slides and attractions. (eap)
