The International Association of Amusement Parks & Attractions (IAAPA) is pleased with this year’s Asian Attraction Expo (AAE), which took place at Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center, 16-19 June. According to preliminary estimates, a total of 8,500 visitors from 74 countries participated in the expo, including 6,100 qualified buyers. This is the second highest number of participants in AAE history, following last year’s expo in Beijing with comparative figures of 9,000 participants and 6,500 buyers. With a number of 353 exhibiting companies (2014: 325) from 40 different countries, covering 9,432 net square meters of show floor (2014: 9,100), two new records were set in Hong Kong. The exhibitors included operators of theme parks, water parks, family entertainment centers, zoos, aquariums, museums, science centers, and resorts as well as a number of developers and investors. The interest in the additional conference and networking program was also high, including more than 2,500 participants. “As we move Asian Attractions Expo to different cities around Asia, we appreciate the unique dynamics of each location. The successful show here in Hong Kong illustrates the strength of the industry throughout the entire Asia-Pacific region”, IAAPA President and CEO, Paul Noland, comments on this year’s AAE. The next AAE will be held at the Shanghai New International Expo Center, 13-16 June 2016. (eap)
