Italy: New “Paradiso” Lazy River Adds to Holiday Feeling at Rome’s Cinecittà World

In the “AquaWorld” theme area (one of the current seven park zones) in Rome’s Cinecittà World, visitors have been able to enjoy a perfect holiday feeling since this summer by lying comfortably on tubes and floating along the gentle current of the new “Paradiso” lazy river. The channel of the new attraction, which occupies an area of about one hectare and was built by the park’s own technical team, is around 350 metres long. At a speed of 0.5 m/s, guests float on their tubes past lush vegetation, Thai-style decorations such as Buddha figures and the adjacent “Phuket Beach”, where Thai massages in a pagoda are also part of the recreational offer. According to the park, about 700,000 euros were invested in the new attraction.

In the future, the “Aqua World” area is to become a stand-alone water park, separately of the themed areas of the film-based Cinecittà World as a separate gate. Work on this project is scheduled to start next year, according to park CEO Stefano Cigarini. (eap)
