Jaderpark/Germany: Tierpark Jaderberg Appoints Christine Richter to New Zoo Director

Veterinarian Christine Richter (33) has recently assumed the responsibility as new zoo director of Germany’s Tierpark Jaderberg (Jaderpark), succeeding Bastian Lange, who took over the position in 2012 (cf. EAP news from February 22nd, 2012) and is now looking forward to new challenges at Zoo am Meer, Bremerhaven.

Previously, Christine Richter had been working as veterinarian at Zoo an der Wingst animal park and did a veterinarian traineeship at Tierpark Jaderberg. Also, in her role as head of examination and veterinarian at the Investigations Office for Chemicals, Hygiene and Veterinary Medicine (G.: Landesuntersuchungsamt für Chemie, Hygiene und Veterinärmedizin) located in Bremen/Germany, Richter gathered experience in the regulatory field. As Tierpark Jaderberg’s new zoo director, she assumes the responsibility for 17 employees and around 600 exotic animals in the zoo. (eap)
