This past weekend, South Korea’s Ocean Adventure water park opened a new major attraction in the form of a hybrid giant slide by wiegand.waterrides that combines the main elements of “Big Bang” (a tapered, U-shaped half pipe) and “Lotus” (an element in the shape of a leaf with a parabolic curve). From a height of almost 23 meters, the family raft slide starts with a tube section that measures 2.70 meters in diameter. Four to five guests can slide in the raft at a time and past daylight effects and hand-painted daylight images before heading at breakneck speed into the stainless steel “Big Bang” element. Here, guests initially slide against the later direction of travel and swing freely back and forth several times, achieving maximum swings. Connected to the Big Bang is a curve that leads into a drop into the Lotus element, in which another brief moment of weightlessness is achieved in a parabolic curve before the slide, which is around 200 meters long in total, ends gently in the water basin.

In addition to this new main attraction, the Ocean Adventure water park has some other attractions from the German manufacturer on offer: the latest to open in 2021 were a three-lane mat wave slide with a length of 77 meters and a three-lane, 103-meter mat racer with a helix and a wave track.
