(eap) The Swedish Liseberg amusement park recently invited 100 people from 100 different countries to ride the new roller coaster “Luna”. In under two weeks, more than 2,600 people had signed up in response to an announcement by the park. From these, 100 lucky people were selected and invited to the event along with their friends and family. After a flag parade and a speech by Liseberg’s PR and communications manager Mårten Westlund, the international group got to enjoy a ride on Vekoma’s Family Boomerang Coaster.

“It was moving to see so many people come together for a ‘moon trip’ in one place. We need more of that in these times!” said Mårten Westlund. Liseberg’s goal, he said, is to send all nations on a “trip to the moon” – so the park continues to look forward to receiving applications. “We want as many countries as possible to have the opportunity, so we will continue to send people to the moon throughout the year. There are still 94 nations that haven’t gone yet,” adds Westlund.
