Splashworld Waterpark in France’s Provence Region Opened

After a construction phase of around two years, August 16 saw the opening of the newest waterpark in France (cf. EAP, issue 1/2014) – Splashworld in Monteux (Provence region). Located at the foot of Mont Ventoux and around half an hour’s drive from Avignon, Splashworld features a range of attractions such as several waterslides (from Polin Waterparks), a lazy river and a surf simulator attraction, which, according to the park, creates the largest artificial wave worldwide. Dubbed “Da Wave”, the surf simulator can be found at the “Wave Club”, an area which is accessible independently of the waterpark. At the Wave Club Restaurant, guests can enjoy a meal or a drink or simply sit together. According to current plans, a newly created amusement park will be opened in the immediate vicinity of Splashworld soon – expected to open by the end of 2016, Parc Spirou will complement the region’s recreational offer. More details about Splashworld and Parc Spirou can be found in one of our next magazine issues. (eap)
