UAE: Al Qana Abu Dhabi Project Update

The National Aquarium

In our September/October 2020 issue, we already reported on the mega leisure complex development project Al Qana in Abu Dhabi and the versatile offer that is being created there in the desert emirate. A total of eleven areas will be combined here to form a hub for tourism but also urban life: The National Aquarium, The Bridge Lifestyle Hub, Cinemacity Al Qana, Pixoul Gaming, Adrenark Adventure, Al Matal, Al Markaz, Al Marina, Al Zaytoun, Al icona and Al Mutaqa. The national aquarium, developed by Polin Aquariums, opened last November and offers visitors the opportunity to marvel at about 45,000 animals in ten different zones. One of the highlights is “Bu Tinah Island“, a 55-metre-long tunnel that takes visitors to a depth of five metres below the surface of a 5,000 cubic metre pool where hammerhead sharks swim over their heads.

The 8,000-square-metre wellness and health facility THE BRIDGE | Lifestyle Hub has also already opened. The indoor FEC Adrenark Adventure with climbing and play facilities for the whole family, the Pixoul Gaming Area, which specialises primarily in VR offerings, and the Cinemacity mega cinema are scheduled to open soon.
