UAE: Museum of the Future in Dubai Opens Today

Today, Dubai celebrates the official opening of the Museum of the Future (MOTF), one of the city’s newest attractions and a masterpiece in the global museum landscape. The architecturally unique building – designed by Dubai architect Shaun Killa (of Killa Design), features a toroidal structure with a façade made of stainless steel and glass – is located in the Financial District of Dubai, directly at Sheikh Zayed Road. The entire surface of the 77-meter-high building is covered all around with Arabic calligraphy, which takes the form of the windows and depicts lines of poetry by Sheik Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and ruler of Dubai, telling his vision for the city.

Inside the museum itself, which was developed by the Dubai Future Foundation, a permanent exhibition spanning five of seven floors will provide insights into possible visions of humanity’s future. Visitors will discover how technology could develop over the next 20 years. The exhibition focuses on science, AI, space exploration, climate change, urban development and mobility. (eap)
