UK: Alton Towers Opens Octonauts Rollercoaster Adventure & Enchanted Village

England’s Alton Towers theme park resort opened up a new attraction in March, which is a real hit with younger guests. “The Octonauts Rollercoaster Adventure”, a custom-made Junior Coaster from Zamperla, was added to the “CBeebies Land” theme area opened in 2014. Named and themed after the children TV series “The Octonauts”, the new coaster has a 136 meter long track and a train capacity of 14 passengers as well as a maximum speed of eight meters per second.

Furthermore, Alton Towers Resort opened its new “Enchanted Village” adjacent to the theme park’s two hotels. The new development features five luxury treehouses and 120 Woodland Lodges, several themed play areas dotted around the village (play equipment supplied by Russel Play), a high ropes course and a theme restaurant. The lodges sleep up to five people – perfect for families – and were designed and built by Willoughby Homes. The individually-designed treehouses accommodate up to eight people and were designed and built by Blue Forest based in East Sussex.
