UK: Hogwarts Express Coming to London

As of this March, visitors to Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter will be able to discover an all-new theme area. The more than 1,800 square meter large expansion will feature a recreation of Platform 9 3/4 and the original Hogwarts Express steam engine from the Harry Potter movies. This new, permanent section will enable guests to experience other popular scenes from the Harry Potter movies and to enter the Hogwarts Express. The 78-year-old steam engine, “Olton Hall”, which was used in the series’ production will return to the series’ production home and enchant visitors as of March 19, 2015. Guests will be able to sit in the interior carriage set that was used during filming and learn more about the process used to create iconic film scenes. Prop luggage will be on display and visitors can find out which items belong to which characters. A themed souvenir shop will also be part of the new expansion area, which will be opened just in time for the Studio Tour’s third anniversary. (eap)
