USA: Boat Ride through Pandora at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

In January 2014 the construction works for the new “AVATAR” themed area started at Disney’s Animal Kingdom in Orlando, Florida (cf. EAP, issue 2/2014). Recently, Disney unveiled further details with regard to the family-friendly attractions the new area will feature. The “Na’vi River Journey” boat ride will take visitors on a journey through a bioluminescent rain forest in the mysterious land of “Pandora”. During the boat ride, they will see exotic plants and meet extraordinary creatures. The ride ends with an encounter with a Na’vi shaman who – according to Disney – “sends positive energy out into the forest through her music”. In addition to the boat ride, the new AVATAR area will include an attraction called “Avatar Flight of Passage” where visitors will get the chance to experience the unique world of Pandora from a bird’s-eye view.
