USA: Disney Announces Opening Date of “Pandora – World of Avatar”

The new “Pandora – World of Avatar” theme world, which is currently under construction at Disney’s Animal Kingdom in Orlando (c.f. EAP 2/14), will open for visitors on May 27^th this year, as it was announced yesterday by Disney’s CEO Bob Iger during the company’s shareholder meeting.

On a total area of some five hectares (12 acre) visitors will be immersed into the world of the indigenous people of “Na’vi” with two main attractions. “Avatar Flight of Passage” invites guests to a flight on “Mountain Banshees” through the lush nature of the fantasy world, the water attraction “Na’vi River” takes families on a tour through a luminescent rainforest (c.f. EAP news from November 10^th, 2015). Furthermore, “Pandora – World of Avatar”, which was planned in a cooperation of Walt Disney Imagineering, Cameron and Lightstorm Entertainment, features diverse gastronomy offers and a Na’vi shop.
