USA: New – Skycoaster® at Casino Pier

In October 2012, the Casino Pier and Breakwater Beach leisure complex situated in Seaside Heights, New Jersey was hit by Hurricane Sandy. Nine month after the catastrophe, the park was accessible to visitors again but is still in the midst of its reconstruction phase. In this framework, several new attractions are opend at the pier. One of these attractions is Ride Entertainment’s Skycoaster® thrill ride which was opened this past June. When daring the flight, up to three guests are at the same time winched up to the top of the 100 foot (around 30 meters) launch tower. Then a ripcord is pulled and at 60 to 80 miles per hour (between 97 and 129 kilometers per hours) the guests soar over the midway and the Atlantic Ocean. “We are really excited to have the Skycoaster® as part of Casino Pier’s rebuilding process with our focus being on rebuilding family memories. Our guests are thrilled with the experience of literally flying over the Atlantic Ocean,” the pier’s Operations Manager, Debbie Karu comments. (eap)
