USA: On Treasure Hunt in Six Flags Over Texas as of 2022

On the occasion of its 60th anniversary, Six Flags Over Texas announced the new ride experience “Pirates of Speelunker Cave“, in which guests will be able to go on a treasure hunt as of the 2022 season. From an entry plaza with coastal theming and an open vantage visitors will enter the attraction where they will board one of 26 six-person-boats. During the ride the boat will float through 17 scenes which are equipped with projections, immersive sets and animatronics. Pirates of Speelunker Cave is a re-imagining of one of the park’s first attractions named “The Cave“, which operated from 1964 to 1991 and will replace the current version of the attraction “Yosemite Sam and the Golden River Adventure“.

“As the world’s first regional theme park, Six Flags Over Texas has built a solid reputation of providing innovative thrills and lifelong memories for generations of families. What better way to celebrate our park’s 60th anniversary than by announcing a brand-new attraction that pays homage to our past and launches us into the future,” said Six Flags Over Texas Park President Ron McKenzie. During the 2022 season the all-new “Aquaman: Power Wave“ water coaster by Mack Rides is scheduled to open as well. (eap)
