USA: Universal Studios Hollywood to Open New „The Walking Dead“ Walk-Through

On July 4th this year, Universal Studios Hollywood will open its new walk-through attraction “The Walking Dead – Battle for Survival” – based on the well-known television series of AMC channel. In addition to the successful “Halloween Horror Nights”, which since three years has also included a “The Walking Dead” experience, this new attraction is a permanent installation to enlarge the park’s selection of activities for visitors. For the attraction design Universal Studios Hollywood worked together with “The Walking Dead’s” creative team, including Visionary Executive Producer and Director Greg Nicotero and his special effects company KNB Efx, to create the show’s realistic decaying walkers. “(…) We’ve shared a successful three-year partnership at ‘Halloween Horror Nights’ and now this permanent ‘The Walking Dead’ walk-through attraction takes the relationship and the fan experience to the next level,” said Charlie Collier, President of AMC and SundanceTV. “The Walking Dead – Battle for Survival” will be located within an entirely new, custom-built structure, situated within an expansive building complex just inside the theme park’s main entry. The concept art and show set design have been developed by the Wyatt Design Group in Pasadena. On Track Themes were responsible for the technical design and project management. Others on the visual design team included Radiance Lightworks for the lighting design and Houston-Tyner Architects for the facility architecture. (eap)
