Germany: Multi-Million Investment Announced in New Accommodation Offerings at LEGOLAND Deutschland Resort

The NINJAGO® heroes Lloyd, Nya, Master Wu & Co. already have their own themed area at LEGOLAND® Deutschland Resort in Guenzburg, Bavaria – in the future, the intrepid friends will then also invite guests to spend the night in the leisure destination’s vacation village. The new NINJAGO® Quartier with 72 family rooms for up to 288 guests is scheduled to open at Whitsun 2022. Each of the 27-square-meter rooms will have a bedroom with a king-size bed, a separate children’s bedroom with bunk beds and a bathroom in the NINJAGO design. Private terraces or, on the second floor, private balconies will invite parents to relax at the end of the day, while children will be able to romp on playground equipment within sight.

The British operating company Merlin Entertainments is investing more than 14 million euros in the expansion of the overnight accommodation. In addition to the new building, which will comprise four two-story buildings, 36 of the existing themed houses in the vacation village will also be completely refurbished to make them more energy-efficient. Regional companies will carry out the construction work.

“It is a clear expression of confidence from our parent company in our site here in Guenzburg and shows how successfully we have worked with our team even during the crisis years. NINJAGO is a theme that many of our guests have requested. Numerous surveys have shown that our target group also wants overnight accommodations based around the brave ninja helpers as a coherent continuation of the NINJAGO theme area in the park. We are delighted to be able to meet this wish in our anniversary year and also see the theming as a fitting extension from the LEGO universe,” says LEGOLAND Managing Director Manuela Stone.

With the opening of the NINJAGO® Quartier, for the construction of which twelve existing themed houses in pirate look must first make way, the overnight capacity in the vacation village will increase by nine percent to 2,176 guests per night. The campsite also offers space for a further 660 people, bringing the total capacity of the vacation village to 2,836 guests. (eap)
