USA: Disney Releases Further Details on “Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind“
In summer 2022, as part of Walt Disney World Resort’s 50th anniversary celebrations, the new “Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind“ roller coaster will debut at Disney’s EPCOT park as “one of the longest fully enclosed coasters in the world, housed in one of the largest show buildings ever constructed for a Disney theme park”, official releases state (see EAP 6/2019).
The new coaster, which will be located in the park’s newly renamed “World Discovery” area, will be integrated in a fully immersive and detailly themed pavilion, which will include “The Galaxarium”, a planetarium-style space. Here, visitors will be able to experience planets, stars and other intergalactic “wonders” that connect the planets “Terra” and “Xander” from the Guardians of the Galaxy universe. If guests want to know more about the population of Xander they can visit “The Xander Gallery” to discover more about “Xandarians”, their culture and history through displays and projections. In front of the new family-friendly attraction, a full-size version of the “Starblaster” space ship will find a permanent location. (eap)
