Netherlands: New Atelier des Lumières Location to Open in Amsterdam

With Fabrique des Lumières, the French company Culturespaces Digital® is realizing a new location of its fascinating “Atelier des Lumières“ digital art museum concept (cf. EAP 3/2020), this time in Amsterdam. In Amsterdam‘s culture park of Westergas, which combines theatre, art, gastronomy, office spaces and much more (among others, the chocolate company Tony‘s Chocolonely is also located here with its offices and a store), the new digital art world is being created in the “Zuiveringshal West“ building, which with a ground space of 2,800 square metres and 17-metre-high walls offers ideal conditions for the colour-intensive art projections. In addition to the immersive exhibition halls, which focus on classical and modern artists, there will also be room dedicated to contemporary artworks.

Bruno Monnier, President of Culturespaces, comments: “After establishing our digital art centers in France, we are excited to create this new center for the city of Amsterdam. The Fabrique des Lumières will offer visitors to the Netherlands an unforgettable, immersive and sensory, artistic experience.“ Duncan Stutterheim, initiator of Westergas, adds: “We are very happy with the arrival of Atelier des Lumières in the Pazzanistraat. The vision we have for Westergas as a Culture Village with an open character is taking more and more shape with this.“

The opening of Fabrique des Lumières, which will be the eighth Lumières location worldwide, is planned for April 2022. (eap)
