South Korea: New Lotte World Park Opens in Busan on 31 March

After a three-day soft opening phase from 17-20 March, the official opening of the second Lotte World park under the name Lotte World Adventure Busan will be celebrated on 31 March. Operating company Lotte World – which operates other visitor destinations in South Korea such as the Seoul Sky, the Lotte Aquarium or the Lotte Waterpark besides the Lotte World theme park, which opened in 1989 – will again realise this latest project in cooperation with the Hollywood-based design company Legacy Entertainment. “For over 30 years, Lotte World has set the gold standard for family entertainment in South Korea,” said Yaeli Chung, Legacy’s Managing Director of Korea. “Our entire team feels very fortunate and humbled to help Lotte World write its next chapter in Busan.”

The new 10-hectare (25-acre) theme park will be divided into six themed areas – “Tinker Falls“, “Rainbow Springs“, “Wonder Woods“, “Queen Lorry‘s Royal Garden“, “Joyful Meadows“ and “Underland“ – all designed to offer highly immersive visitor experiences. The main attractions include the Mack Rides-supplied Launched Coaster “Giant Digger“, the “Giant Splash“ (type Super Splash also by Mack), the “Giant Swing“ by Zamperla as well as “Ogre‘s Flume“ by ABC Rides – in addition, the first “Roller Coaster Restaurant“ in Korea will also open at Lotte World Adventure Busan.
