France: Disney D-Light: Unique Drone Show Enchants Visitors to Disneyland® Paris

For its anniversary season this year, Disneyland® Paris, which opened its gates to visitors for the very first time in April 1992, has created “Disney D-Light”, a brand-new evening show developed especially for this occasion. Performed in the park’s outdoor area at Disney Castle, the show was created in collaboration with Bordeaux-based technology provider Dronisos. The company specializes in the creation of indoor and outdoor shows with autonomous drones (see also our report on new drone providers on the market in EAP issue 6/2018). Disney D-Light wows with video projections and other lighting and special effects such as fog, lasers and Disney music. LED lights attached to the drones enable spectacular light shows in the dark, and the show ends with a choreographed sequence of the small flying objects over the Sleeping Beauty Castle. This is followed by the “Disney Illuminations” nighttime show.

The SNELAC members currently holding their Annual Meeting at the Disneyland Paris Resort were also able yesterday to enjoy this very special evening show. As recently announced during the “D23 Expo” in Anaheim in California, the 30th anniversary celebrations of the Paris theme park resort will be extended until 30 September 2023, and will be enriched by a new show combining spectacular stage technology with state-of-the-art video and lighting technology.
