Shenzhen / China: Stunning Water Show at OCT Bay

This summer saw the soft opening of the first part of China’s newest shopping and entertainment destination OCT Bay in Shenzhen, China. US-based architects Laguarda.Low developed the new 300,000 square meter large complex including retail, hospitality, entertainment, restaurants and much more all arranged around a manmade lake overlooking the Shenzhen Bay. One of the main attractions that were opened this summer is the nearly 40-minute multimedia water show “Mangrove Groove”, performed on a 5,600 square meter large aquatic stage. Up to 5,000 visitors can enjoy the show featuring two water screens, projected images, hundreds of special effects as well as live actors. For the planning and production of the show, the OCT Group commissioned the experienced, French event company ECA2.
