Sweden: Skånes Djurpark Plans „Shaun the Sheep“ Family Attraction

Last week, Sweden’s Skånes Djurpark announced its plans for the opening of the first international „Shaun the Sheep“ family attraction in summer 2016. Children and their parents will get the chance to experience the world of Shaun that so far could only be seen on TV and in the movie theatres.

When implementing the new themed world the wilderness park will offer a 3-D experience in accordance with its six core values – play, learn, share, explore, magic and excitement. The development of the 5 million GBP (around 7 million Euro) project was carried out in cooperation with the British animation studio Aardman.

They create stories that are universal and without borders which has been an important factor in partnering with them for this project in a location close to both Denmark, Germany, Norway and Eastern Europe”, Håkon Lund, Chairman of Lund Group, says.

Since January 1 this year, the founded in 1952 and located in South Sweden wilderness park belongs to Lund Group, one of Europe’s oldest entertainment companies. Currently 85 different Nordic animal species live in Skånes Djurpark. (eap)
