“Barnstormer”: New Attraction at Dollywood in 2011

The name of the new attraction “Barnstormer” at Dollywood comes from the daring stunt pilots of the 1920s in the US who performed breathtaking tricks with their airplanes high above farms and fields. The guests of the around 4.3 million Euro (5.5 million US Dollar) family thrill ride will also swing through the air with up to 72 km/h. Thirty-two passengers, seated back to back, swing in two pendulum arms higher and higher to a height of staggering 25 meters (81ft) in the air. The new ride from S&S Worldwide is situated in the theme area “Owens Farm” that will also feature new play areas for children. (eap)
