England: Final Round of Public Consultation for New Entertainment Resort near London Postponed

Following the announcement of London Resort Company Holdings Ltd. (LRCH) last month informing that the license agreement with US film production company Paramount to build a new large-scale entertainment resort and a film-based theme park near London had been discontinued (cf. EAP news from June 24th, 2017), the final round of public consultation, which was foreseen for November this year, will now take place in early 2018; the Development Consent Order application is scheduled to be submitted in spring next year.

However, the project is making good progress: “[…] We are delighted with progress on partnership agreements. We plan to build over 3,500 hotel rooms, operated by our new partner, Intercontinental Hotel Group; constructing the majority of the resort and new roads and infrastructure with materials stored at and transported from Port of Tilbury, with whom we have recently signed an agreement. We are now in very detailed commercial negotiations regarding partners, the concepts they are embracing and some of the incredible creative propositions […],” said Humphrey Percy, CEO of LRCH. (eap)
