Saudi Arabia: Kingdom Announces to Build Six Flags Park – Opening Scheduled for 2022

For some time past, several media and fan forums have been dealing with rumors on the possible construction of a Six Flags theme park in Saudi Arabia. Now the project has been announced officially: As part of the Qiddiya entertainment destination currently under development around 40 kilometers away from downtown Riyadh, a Six Flags theme park is scheduled to open its doors in 2022.

Developer of this leisure complex and Six Flags’ project partner is the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund (PIF). “Our goal is to create an exciting one-of-a-kind destination that will draw visitors from throughout Saudi Arabia to experience record-breaking rollercoasters, innovative rides and attractions, as well as the sporting and cultural facilities that Qiddiya will offer. By partnering with a global leader, we know that we are going to deliver something exceptional,” commented Michael Reininger, Chief Executive of Qiddiya.
