USA: Universal Studios Hollywood Announce Complete Make-Over of “Jurassic Park – The Ride” – New “Jurassic World Ride” Experience to be Launched in 2019

Since its opening in 1996, the “Jurassic Park – The Ride” rafting attraction has been enthusing visitors to Universal Studios Hollywood. Based on Steven Spielberg’s blockbuster movie “Jurassic Park” premiered in 1993, the attraction takes visitors on a journey through lush green landscapes with giant animatronic dinosaurs, before the riders themselves become the focus of the carnivorous predators …

Visitors will be able to enjoy the popular water ride until September 3rd this year – then, Universal Studios Hollywood will close down the attraction for a complete make-over in order to launch the new “Jurassic World Ride” visitor experience in 2019, featuring enhanced storytelling with state-of-the-art technology, astounding special effects and a detailed scenic design. The attraction overhaul will partly be inspired by the new movie production “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom”, which as the fifth film of the Jurassic Park series will be premiered in June this year at cinemas around the world. In addition, the “Jurassic Cove” themed restaurant and the “Jurassic Outfitters” retail shop will be temporarily closed down in order to receive a “fresh coat”.

Before the new “Jurassic World Ride” attraction will be launched next year, guests can already look forward to the opening of the park’s new DreamWorks Theatre featuring “Kung Fu Panda” this upcoming June – under the title “Kung Fu Panda: The Emperor’s Quest” the new offer for visitors will comprise immersive storytelling with state-of-the-art projection mapping technology and LED lighting effects (cf.
