USA: Six Flags Announces FY 2018 Results – Record Revenue for Ninth Consecutive Year

The Six Flags Entertainment Corporation (Six Flags), which had already achieved further growth for its related theme and water parks in the first half of the 2018 financial year (cf. EAP News from July 30th, 2018), has recently announced its final results for the complete financial year 2018, with which the group records a revenue increase for the ninth consecutive year.

According to the business report, total revenues increased by 105 million US Dollar (approx. 92 million Euro) or eight percent to 1.5 billion US Dollar (approx. 1.3 billion Euro). The full-year revenue growth was primarily driven by a five percent increase in attendance to a total of 32 million guests at the related parks as well as a two percent increase in guest spending per capita. Also, the group had added five more parks to its portfolio in spring last year, further boosting total attendance (cf. EAP News from May 24th, 2018). For its “sponsorship, international agreements and accommodations” division, Six Flags recorded a growth of seven percent in the 2018 FY.

Diluted earnings per share for 2018 was 3.23 US Dollar (approx. 2.86 Euro), an increase of five percent compared to 2017. Adjusted EBITDA for 2018 increased to a new high of 554 million US Dollar (approx. 490 million Euro), a gain of seven percent compared to 2017. (eap)
