USA: Busch Gardens Tampa Bay Reveals First Details on 2020 Novelty – Park to Build Hybrid Coaster

West-Florida’s Busch Gardens Tampa Bay Africa-themed park, which is part of the SeaWorld Entertainment group, had already announced its plans to add a new attraction to its coaster portfolio in 2020, replacing the former “Gwazi” wooden coaster and following this year’s opening of the new “Tigris” multi-launch coaster (supplied by Premier Rides, cf. EAP News from Sept 13th, 2018).

Recently, the park has communicated first details on the new ride for 2020, revealing that it will be a hybrid coaster from US manufacturer Rocky Mountain Construction (RMC). The Idaho-based company is a specialist for the hybrid technology combining steel track and wooden structure (cf. EAP News from Aug 18th, 2017). With a height of over 60 meters (200 feet), the new hybrid coaster will be North America’s tallest installation of this ride type, according to the park. (eap)
