Denmark: Niels Jørgen Jensen Appointed New Managing Director of Fårup Sommerland
Danish Fårup Sommerland theme park today announced the appointment of Niels Jørgen Jensen (photo) as new Managing Director of the park, effective Sept 1st this year. The current Managing Director Per Dam Jensen will leave on May 1st to take over the management of the Sol og Strand Feriehusudlejning holiday home rental company. In the meantime, park owner Henrik Schnack will take over as interim Director.
Jørgen Jensen started his carrer as a seasonal worker at Fårup and later went on to take over several leadership positions, including General Manager of the park. Since November 2014, he has been working for LEGO House in Billund, which was officially opened in 2017 (read also our report on the LEGO brand experience center in EAP 6/17). Currently, he holds the position as Senior Operations Director, before he returns to Fårup Sommerland in September.
“We are pleased to announce that Niels Jørgen Jensen will be the new Director. He knows Fårup inside-out, is very well connected in the industry and in recent years, he has gained even more experience through the launch and management of LEGO House. We are confident that Niels Jørgen Jensen will do very well in his new role and that he is the right person to manage Fårup in the coming years,” comments Ole Mølgaard, Chairman of the board.
“I look very much forward to returning to Fårup. I know the park very well, and it has always felt important to me. In recent years, Fårup has undergone an exciting transformation, and I look forward to getting onboard and to further developing Fårup alongside the board of directors and the talented and dedicated team,” says Jørgen Jensen.
