UK: Paultons Park Announces New Theme Area & New Attractions for 2020

England’s family amusement park Paultons Park, located around a 20 minutes’ drive away from Southampton, has recently announced its plans to open a new theme area under the name of “Tornado Springs” in May 2020, immersing visitors into a Midwest desert resort town of the 1950s.

The new area will cover a site of approx. 1.6 hectares (4 acres) and feature more than eight attractions in order to appeal to a wide target group aged between three and 14 years. Its main attraction will be “Storm Chaser”, a spinning coaster from German manufacturer Mack Rides. In addition, park guests can look forward to a line-up of further new rides and attractions, including “The Cyclonator” (a Gyro Swing from Zamperla), “Al’s Auto Acadamy” (a driving school supplied by Formula K), two Zierer family drop towers and two adventure playgrounds. A shop and a family restaurant will complement the new multi-million-pound theme area.

James Mancey, Operations Director at Paultons Park, says: “We are extremely excited to bring Tornado Springs to the public next May. The new themed world represents the single largest and most ambitious investment in the future of Paultons Park since we opened in 1983. The Tornado Springs concept is unique to Paultons Park and will significantly extend our capacity to entertain and delight children of all ages. […]”

Planning partner for the new theme area at Paultons Park is the Leisure Expert Group, the production and construction of all theming & design elements will be carried out by MK Themed Attractions. (eap)
