KidZania to Be Turned into Global Brand

The first KidZania theme park was founded by the Mexican entrepreneur Xavier Lopez Ancona in Mexico City in 1999. The park’s concept is based on role-playing for kids from ages two to 12. KidZania is a replica of a designed city in which children can take on adults’ roles and imitate “real life”. Aim of the park is to help kids to learn faster about the adult world and how a real city works (as reported in EAP 1/2008).
According to The Star Online, KidZania wants to become a global brand. KidZania’s concept has been propagated fast internationally and by now there are franchise partner amongst others in Tokyo, Jakarta and Lisbon. In the next two years, parks are planned to be built in Shanghai, Bangkok and Istanbul. There is also a plan to open a park in the US after the next two years. (eap)
