The VOID Wins Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield & Lupa Systems as Strategic Investors

The VOID, the US-based provider of virtual- and hyper-reality experiences, has recently announced to have welcomed French Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield (URW) real estate and investment group and New York City- and Mumbai-based Lupa Systems private investment firm (founded by James Murdoch) as new investors to the company. Both provide a minority investment, enabling the VOID to scale its presence globally and continue its pursuit of offering cutting-edge, location-based experiences. Already in summer this year, The VOID and URW have announced their collaboration to open a number of VR attractions at selected shopping malls of URW across the US and Europe (cf. EAP News of 26th July 2019).

“We’re thrilled to welcome Lupa Systems and URW as strategic and financial partners. The combination of new powerful content and the rollout of fantastic locations will strengthen The VOID as the category leader. This capital infusion will allow us to build brand awareness across capital cities around the world and our innovation-led mindset will continue to create new standards for immersive experiences,” said Craig Watson, Chairman of The VOID.

Among other investors to The VOID, Lupa Systems and URW join companies such as Disney, Genting Malaysia and Meraas. (eap)
