USA: World’s First LEGO Factory Adventure Ride Announced for Legoland New York Resort

When LEGOLAND® New York Resort opens its doors on July 4th, 2020 as the largest Legoland theme park ever built, “LEGO® Factory Adventure Ride” will be the world’s first dark ride with on-ride tracking technology available for visitors – as was announced today by Merlin Entertainments, Holovis and ETF Rides during a joint press conference at IAAPA Expo 2019 in Orlando. Thanks to state-of-the-art “HoloTrac” technology, developed by British Holovis company as turnkey supplier for this dark ride project, both the attributes of the passengers and their position in the ETF Rides vehicles will be displayed in the virtual space, transforming riders into LEGO® Minifigures right before their own eyes.

“Merlin Entertainments continues to grow in North America with more than 30 attractions and is already pushing boundaries with the LEGO Factory Adventure before LEGOLAND New York even opens,” said Head of Public Relations North America for Merlin Entertainments Julie Estrada. She adds, “Imagine travelling through a LEGO Factory and suddenly seeing yourself as a LEGO Minifigure! With vision in hand, we looked to two of the world’s leading developers, Holovis and ETF Rides, to create this first of its kind dark ride experience. I can’t wait to see the looks on our guests’ faces when they experience it.”
