Germany: Karlsruher Bäder Achieve Further Visitor Attendance Growth

Yesterday, Oliver Sternagel (CEO of Karlsruher Bäder) and Mayor Martin Lenz presented the annual results of the ten related indoor and outdoor pools which belong to the portfolio of Karlsruher Bäder. In 2019, a total of around 1.64 million visitors were welcomed at the facilities, 1.14 million of which enjoyed water fun in the indoor pools. The outdoor pool facilities received just under 500,000 guests during the summer months in 2019, which represents only a slight decrease compared to the visitor attendance achieved in 2018 (cf. EAP News of 6 Mar 2019).

The “flagship” among the Karlsruher Bäder facilities, the Europabad Karlsruhe, welcomed 479,350 guests in 2019 – a plus of six percent compared to the previous year. A great success in terms of visitor numbers was also achieved by the Fächerbad, with 387,722 guests (2018: 335,633 guests). In order to consolidate this growth, Karlsruher Bäder will invest in the modernization of the sauna area of Fächerbad: “We’re not planning to create a second experience sauna, which we already have at Europabad, but a modern sauna facility for relaxation,” comments Sternagel.
