Covid-19 Update: Current Decisions and Measures of Leisure Facilities

The worldwide spread of the Coronavirus (“Covid-19”) is unfortunately also showing its first effects on the leisure industry. The first theme and water parks in Europe and the USA are announcing their temporary closure, while elsewhere measures such as postponing the nearing start into the new park season are already under discussion. According to our latest information, leisure park operators are currently reviewing their already high hygiene and safety standards and, if necessary, are adjusting them to the current situation.

Please check updates on the websites as well as social media channels of the respective operators about initiated measures and decisions that are being taken in the effort to slow down the increase in cases of illness by limiting contact possibilities to relieve public health care systems.

The IAAPA EMEA (International Association of Amusement Parks & Attractions) has organized a webinar on Coronavirus, which will cover background, ideas and best practices. It will be held on Wed, 18th March 2020 at 13:00 CET – please click here to register. (eap)
