Germany: Klimahaus Bremerhaven Honored With „Leading Culture Destination Award“

During this year’s “Leading Culture Destination Awards“ (LCD Awards) ceremony, which – after London in the previous years – took place in Berlin for the first time, Germany’s Klimahaus Bremerhaven 8° Ost was honored with the “Climate Smart Award“. The museum, which is dedicated to the geographical and climatic areas of the earth along its eight longitude, was awarded by an eight-member international jury. Other nominees in this category were the US-American movement “Not An Alternative“, the “Climate Museum” located in New York, and the “Jockey Club Museum of Climate Change“ in Hong Kong.

“We as the ‘climate house’ are very excited to receive this award, which confirms our work and shows that modern educational experience centers have an important impact on social life. Facilities such as ours have to send their message in oder to be effective,“ comments Arne Dunker, shareholder and general manager of Klimahaus. The LCD Awards in Berlin, which were presented by the "Leading Culture Destination" cultural travel network in cooperation with the "visitBerlin" travel portal, honored extraordinary leisure destinations from all over the world and are also known as the "Oscars for museums".
