Germany: Messe Stuttgart Postpones interbad to 2021

The Messe Stuttgart (Stuttgart exhibition & congress center) just announced the postponement of the interbad trade fair – the International Trade Fair for Swimming Pools, Sauna and Spas – which was originally scheduled for coming September to next year. The new date for the international trade show is from 21st to 24th September 2021. The interbad originally scheduled for 2022 will also be postponed by one year, probably changing the former schedule in the long-term.

The interbad would have been the first platform for the pool and spa industry in Germany held under the current corona restrictions. A comprehensive hygiene and safety concept was developed especially for the event. However, according to Messe Stuttgart, uncertainty prevails among many exhibitors from Germany and other countries, which has been reflected in cancellations.

“Our aim is to organize and hold a successful event to which we can lightheartedly welcome exhibitors and visitors from the pool, sauna and spa business sectors and which provides a platform for profitable contacts,” explains Andreas Wiesinger, Member of the General Management of Messe Stuttgart and adds that the realization of such an event would currently not be possible. “We very much regret these developments, because this year the industry is losing its central platform for exchange, which would have been important after the months of the corona crisis,” adds Wiesinger.

With the decision of Messe Stuttgart to postpone this year’s interbad to the new date in September 2021, the pool and spa industry has two events on the calendar shortly following each other – the aquanale in Cologne takes place from 26th to 29th October 2021. If the suppliers and manufacturers will present themselves on both market place or make a choice between them remains to be seen. (eap)
