Sweden: Liseberg Postpones Applause Award Anniversary Event
This year, Sweden‘s Liseberg park would have celebrated the 40th anniversary of the “Applause Awards“, which are presented every two years during the IAAPA Expo in Orlando. Due to the postponement of the trade show by the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions‘ (IAAPA) (cf. EAP news of 4 Sep 2020), the park now also announced the postponement of the award ceremony. “It is of course with a heavy heart, that we postpone this anniversary edition of the Applause Award, but we look forward to presenting the award to one of the three world-class finalists on November 16, 2021,“ says Andreas Veilstrup Andersen, CEO and President of Liseberg.
The Applause Awards honor parks for their special efforts in areas of management, operations and creativity. In 2018, Xcaret, a nature theme park in Mexico, received the award (cf. EAP 1/2019). (eap)
