Netherlands: Modified Winter Celebrations at Efteling Start Mid-November

Despite the persistend corona pandemic, The Netherland’s Efteling fairytale theme park will host its annual “Winter Efteling“ event weeks. From November 16th, 2020 to January 31st, 2021, the park’s grounds will be turned into a winter wonderland. As long as the weather conditions allow for it, most attractions and rollercoasters will remain open to guests.

The temporary themed area “Warme Winter Weide“ will offer guests cosy bonefires and snow-covered tree tops this year instead of the usual ice palace and the cross country skiing track. Special music and entertainment shows as well as seasonal F&B offerings such as hot drinks are supposed to create a wintery and christmassy atmosphere. “We are very happy that Winter Efteling can take place again this year, including the beautiful addition of our Warme Winter Weide winter garden. As in previous years, the Fairytale Forest is beautifully illuminated at night, there is winter entertainment again and every evening ends with the spectacular Aquanuara water show. In these unusual times, we have had to make some adjustments, but we expect visitors to be enchanted with the winter atmosphere in the park as always,“ says Koen Sanders, Efteling’s Commerce, Creation & Development Director.
