Germany: Center Parcs Continues on Expansion Course – New Vacation Park Destination Planned for Baltic Sea Coast

Urlaub in einer Ferienanlage der Marke Center Parcs wird bald auch an der Ostsee-Küste möglich sein.

At Groupe Pierre et Vacances, the signs are pointing to further growth: following the announcement of Center Parcs to develop a vacation park in the Franconian Lake District in Southern Germany, the company just revealed its plans to construct another new Center Parcs facility on the German Baltic Sea coast, on the Pütnitz peninsula in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. A total of 600 holiday homes and apartments, in addition to the “classic” Center Parcs facilities such as an Aqua Mundo water park, a Market Dome with restaurants, an Action Factory indoor play world as well as a café and a show stage are to be built on the 120 hectares-large site. The completion of the vacation park complex, the planned investment volume for which amounts to around 220 million Euros, is scheduled for 2024.

Frank Daemen, Managing Director of Center Parcs Germany, comments: “We are pleased to announce that we will soon have a vacation park on the Baltic Sea coast. This region has been enjoying a growth in popularity within Germany for several years now and we are delighted that Center Parcs will offer a year-round destination for tourists. Our goal is not only to build a vacation park, but also to develop this unique and already well developed peninsula into a complete tourist destination in close cooperation with the municipality of Ribnitz-Damgarten and other partners. […] Now it’s all about the development and implementation of the park, and in doing so the integration of the people living in the region as well as sustainability and ecology are our top priorities […].”

The declaration of intent for the realization of this major construction project is now to be signed by the municipality of Ribnitz-Damgarten and Center Parcs. (eap)
