Boltenhagen: New Holiday World on the Baltic Sea

On the peninsula of Tarnewitz, east of the Baltic Sea resort Boltenhagen, one of the largest holiday resorts in Germany is set to open at the end of April 2008 after five years of project development and a 20-month construction phase. The “Weiße Wiek” (white bay) is located directly by the sea and consists of Germany’s first Iberotel, a “Dorfhotel” (village hotel) and a modern marina. Visitors to the “white bay” with its total area of 118,000 square metres will soon be able to experience a holiday with a view of the Baltic Sea. The 4.5-star upscale hotel Iberotel, the family-friendly, self-catering apartments of the “Dorfhotel” and the Boltenhagen Marina all set a suitable stage for a seaside vacation. Both hotel brands are 100 percent subsidiaries of TUI. The car-free “Dorfhotel” is especially geared to families and offers a children’s and babies’ wading pool in the pool area, a playground for the kids, and even a complete baby kit in the flatlets. At Iberotel, guests can enjoy a modern wellness area where extensive beauty and health treatments are offered. With an overall investment sum of 76 million euros, the “Weiße Wiek” is currently the biggest construction project in the tourism segment in the German state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. (eap)
