Japan: Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios Japan Opens Today

After a previous soft opening phase the new ”Super Nintendo World” themed area officially opens today at Universal Studios Japan. The multi-level experience area is dedicated entirely to the colorful world of the famous Nintendo games about “Super Mario” and his friends. Visitors will have the opportunity to become a part of the game and get a behind-the-scenes look at locations such as “Princess Peach’s” and “Bowser’s” castle.
The highlight of Super Nintendo World is the ride experience ”Mario Kart: Koopa’s Challenge” in which guests are immersed into the well-known racing game with the help of AR and projection mapping elements. Other attractions include “Yoshi’s Adventure” and “Asobi”. Through the so-called Power-Up Band, guests are able to collect points in the form of digital coins while enjoying the attractions and rank themselves into a high score.
