VR Snorkelling

“DIVR“ is the first VR snorkelling attraction jointly developed by wiegand.maelzer and Ballast Technologies, adding an exciting underwater adventure to any ordinary swimming pool. Equipped with special waterproof VR headsets and a snorkel, “divers” can drift relaxed in the water to enjoy a virtual journey through colorful coral reefs, old shipwrecks and underwater caves alongside all kinds of fish, turtles and whales. An exciting innovation in the field of VR technology that promises a pleasant experience of virtual worlds.

Time Traveler

In spring this year, “Time Traveler”, the world’s first Xtreme Spinning Coaster from German manufacturer Mack Rides, was opened at Missouri’s Silver Dollar City theme park. The ride, themed as a time travel machine, combines two launch sections, several inversions and spinning vehicles. Following a steep 90-degree vertical drop directly at the beginning, riders rush along the 920-meter long track at a maximum speed of 81 km/h, passing a dive loop and a zero-g roll amongst other elements. Storm Racer

Tweestryd

New and exciting! This racing version of Vekoma’s dueling Family Boomerang not only offers twice the capacity, but also has various interactive elements – sections where both trains encounter, duel and race each other – which make the coaster unique. The two tracks have a different layout and guests will of course choose to ride both tracks. In short, it is an impressive structure with a tremendous marketing value and a coaster the entire family can enjoy.

Sliding in a Ferris Wheel

Since April 2018, the world's first SlideWheel® installation by the German slide manufacturer wiegand.maelzer has been turning its rounds at Chimelong Water Park in Guangzhou, China. Out of 160t total weight, 130 tons are rotating within 30 seconds per turn around the attraction’s horizontal axis. Both start and exit are at the same height at 11.5m. This is made possible through the use of an Archimedes Pump, which heaves the riders on their 4 person raft back to the initial starting height after passing several different adrenaline zones. Every guest experiences 3 turns inside the SlideWheel before the Grand Finale in a 110m long Big River. This means 110 seconds – almost 2 minutes – of pure fun for every single guest. The synchronized entrance station with conveyor belts at the start guarantees a capacity of 480 riders per hour. After sunset, the SlideWheel® is the scenery for a spectacular light show as it is perfectly staged by over 700 LED illuminated spots, installed on top of its construction and slide elements. Yippee!

With “Yippe”, the Columbian amusement park Parque del Café has opened a new catapult rollercoaster for families by Gerstlauer Amusement Rides GmbH in 2018. After an initial launch out of the station triggered by friction wheels on the tracks, the passengers experience a ride with numerous ups and downs, twists and turns. After the family-friendly launch out of the station, a lift hill leads the rollercoaster to its highest point. With its changes in direction and downhills the ride appeals to all age groups. This family coaster is of course equipped with wear-free eddy current brakes and single lap bars. Thus, even small riders can enjoy an exciting and safe ride. What are you waiting for? Desert Splash!

Modern water park venues offer refreshing bathing fun around the world – especially in desert regions, they draw visitor crowds all-year round. A versatile attractions line-up including water slides, lazy river systems, kids play areas and wave machines from Canadian manufacturer WhiteWater West promises great fun for visitors of all ages. Several attractions from its portfolio installed the Richmond-based company at the Aquaventure water park, which is part of Atlantis The Palm in Dubai, including two slide towers and a lazy and rapid river system. Also, Yas Waterworld in Abu Dhabi features numerous WhiteWater West attractions: Especially the looping slide with trap door, the free fall slide and the speed slide promise an extra portion of adrenaline. In addition, the Canadian manufacturer is an expert for classics such as flume rides and river rapids rides, offering the ideal splash for venues worldwide!

Water Meets Wind!

Switzerland’s Klarer Freizeitanlagen AG presents the world’s first wind slide! “Water Meets Wind“ – a new and innovative slide concept promising a unique experience. Bathing guests rush through the “Stormchaser” slide solely powered by wind energy, independent from the slope. By adjusting their body position within the slide, guests can control their own speed. Wild times ahead at Germany’s AquaMagis bathing complex in Plettenberg – starting on June 23rd this year, bathing guests can experience a unique adventure in the new Stormchaser slide!

Aqualagon’s Mega Funnel

The 9,000 square meter Aqualagon water park, which is part of the new ecological vacation resort Villages Nature Paris, is one amongst Europe’s largest, featuring a versatile slide park. All large slides were supplied by German AQUARENA company, offering calm sliding fun up to action-packed rapid races. One of Aqualagon’s most exciting slides is the “AquaCrater” funnel slide with a giant 18 meter wide, closed funnel section. Pure spectacle – Ferris wheel or waterslide? The innovative SlideWheel from German manufacturer Wiegand.Maelzer combines a range of exciting sliding experiences such as strong G-forces, backwards sliding, pendulum movements and multiple airtime sections. Thanks to its dynamic movements, bathing guests experience a unique ride in the approx. 24 meter high SlideWheel. The tubes reach a total track length of 140 meters, their diameter of 2.70 meters allows the use of four-person rafts for shared sliding fun. Sliding, swinging, rotating, up-and-down sections, back- and forward movements – Wiegand.Maelzer’s SlideWheel combines the full range of motion sequences and creates a USP for slide parks!

Lech Coaster at Legendia

Vekoma Rides Manufacturing has delivered the first model of its newly developed Bermuda Blitz coaster to Poland’s Legendia – since July 2017, “Lech Coaster” has made its rounds as the park’s new signature ride, rushing with a top speed of 95 km/h. The new rollercoaster is said to be the highest, fastest and – with a track length of some 908 meters – fastest ride in the country. During 104 seconds, riders pass through a twisted-beyond-vertical drop, a small tunnel and a total of four inversions – further track elements include inclined turns, dynamic twists and numerous airtime moments, providing an exciting ride experience.

Racer Twin Turbolance

The core feature of Polin Waterparks’ latest venture, Racer Twin Turbolance, is its innovative design consisting of two double-tubes configured side by side along a circular path. The ride's path is actually two slides in one. The double tubes accommodate two riders each for a total of four, making it a high capacity ride. The path takes exciting twists and turns before reaching an enclosure that suddenly plummets riders down a nearly vertical drop at speeds of up to 52 kilometers per hour. At this point, the slide diverges into two open, separate Turbolance sections where the riders are then propelled uphill vertically. They experience an unforgettable reverse path taking them over a bump and ending into a splash pool or a dry-out.

The Monster Infinity Coaster

Last summer Gerstlauer Amusement Rides opened its first Infinity Coaster in the USA at Iowa’s Adventureland. After leaving the station, the vehicle is forwarded to a height of 40 meters – which is the highest point of the ride – and then the adventure featuring a total track length of 759 meters begins. This unique thrill is driven to the top by five inversions and many other breathtaking elements. Fun guaranteed! The "Monster" Infinity Coaster by Gerstlauer Amusement Rides.

Wet Racing Fun at Schloss Dankern

Last summer, Germany’s Ferienzentrum Schloss Dankern opened its new „Matt Racer“ slide in its outdoor area, providing guests with dueling racing fun. The slide, only used with mats, is a Body²Racer model of the German supplier AQUARENA – two 78 meter long lanes, running parallel to one another, invite to a thrilling challenge. Both lanes start at the same height from the eleven meter tall slide tower, with a red-yellow-green starting lamp kicking off each race; a monitor displays the times of the two competitors at the end of the ride. Ready for the next outdoor pool season!
