(eap) The French Parc Festyland near Caen in Normandy will open a new family roller coaster in spring 2026, which will be named “Valkyrie” and take guests into the world of the warrior maidens from Norse mythology.

The upcoming novelty is a Family Boomerang from the Dutch manufacturer Vekoma, featuring a 460-meter track that will be traversed at a top speed of more than 65 km/h. The highest point of the new coaster under development reaches 27 meters, its train will provide a capacity for 20 passengers. The thematic design of the new attraction has been commissioned to Morgan Fix Creative. An atmosphere of drifting mist, rumbling thunder, and runic symbols is intended to stage the Valkyrie experience in an emotionally engaging way.

According to its own statements, Festyland is investing over four million euros in the new coaster, aiming to delight its target audience of families with a new major attraction from the coming season onwards. The park welcomes around 250,000 visitors annually. ■
