France: Zoo d’Amnéville to Build New Tiger World

Located in the northeast of France, the privately operated zoo of Amnéville (Lorraine) plans to open a new “Tiger World” in April of 2015. The new show arena will feature around 1,800 seats and will be completely themed with lush greenery, rocks, basins and cascades in a “jungle” environment. But before visitors can enjoy the show with trained tigers performing their tricks, they will enter the new building via a themed hallway which aims to sensitize visitors to the protection of these animals. The project is budgeted at 14 million Euros. More about this zoo project can be read in one of our next magazine issues. (eap)
