Gardaland Starts Construction Works on New Rollercoaster

On the occasion of its 40th anniversary next year, Italy’s Gardaland will open up a new exciting attraction in 2015. The construction works for the new rollercoaster at the park operated by the Merlin Entertainments Group officially started in the last few days. The brand new attraction will be designed and built by Switzerland’s Bolliger & Mabillard company, which was already responsible for the construction of “Raptor”, the Wing Coaster opened at Gardaland in 2011. Following the opening of Heide Park’s Dive Coaster (“Krake”) and its newest addition, a Wing Coaster (“Flug der Dämonen”, cp. EAP, issue 4/2014)), it is not unlikely that Gardaland will open a Dive Coaster as well, as both parks are Merlin-operated facilities. (eap)
