USA: Disney Projects 2022

During the Walt Disney Company’s annual “Destination D23“ event, Josh D’Amaro (photo), Chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences & Products, shared new insights on what‘s to await at Disney destinations worldwide in 2022. “Since the beginning, have people have felt the powerful connection to the Disney brand. As we build original, state-of-the-art experiences that further expand our favourite stories and even tell brand new ones, we look forward to a future filled with connections, endless possibilities and magic for Disney fans everywhere,“ said D’Amaro.

During its 50th anniversary celebrations, Walt Disney World Resort (WDWR) will open its new attraction “Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind“ at EPCOT next summer (see EAP news of 22 Nov 2021). Here, a new quick service restaurant named “Connection Café & Eatery“ will add to the F&B offering as well. At WDWR the new themed hotel “Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser“ will offer overnight guests the opportunity to travel into the Star Wars universe as of 1 March 2022. The new voice assistant “Hey Disney“ will be feautured in hotel rooms at Disneyland Resort in California. With the new MagicBand+ park visitors will be able to reinforce their experience as they are able to to activate further interactive experiences throughout the park with the wristband.

At Disneyland Paris, the 30th anniversary celebration will start on 6 March 2022 and will feature the long-awaited opening of the new “Avengers Campus“ theme area (see EAP 5/2021). On deck of Disney’s latest cruise ship Disney Wish, guests will have the opportunity to enjoy two new show events, “Disney The Little Mermaid“ and “Disney Seas the Adventure“. (eap)
